Reecon Advisory Report Begins Publication Today

New Weekly Newsletter Focuses on Real Estate Market News and Analysis

Washington, DC January 6, 2009— Reecon Advisors, Inc., an independent real estate economics and information company, today began publication of The Reecon Advisory Report, a new weekly newsletter providing insight and intelligence on residential real estate.

“Never has it been more difficult to understand the factors shaping the residential real estate markets and anticipate opportunities in this time of crisis. Every day it seems that the business changes in ways that seemed impossible just a few years ago. With the new year, we are launching a publication to fill the industry’s need for critical information,” said David Lereah, president of Reecon Advisors, an independent real estate economics and information company.

Published on Tuesdays, the Reecon Advisory Report delivers the information and analysis professionals need to understand the forces that are shaping residential real estate markets. Real estate brokers, agents, builders, lenders and investors, and other real estate professionals will find that the report’s laser-focus on property values and sales volume translates the latest news-making developments into intelligence they can use.

Co-founded by David Lereah, former chief economist for the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and the Mortgage Bankers Association of America, and Steve Cook, a public relations professional and former NAR executive, the weekly report contains news and analysis ranging from market trends and data to government policy.

Each issue contains:

  • Market Commentary. David Lereah discusses how overall economic conditions, government crisis polices and the latest market place developments affect real estate sales and property values.
  • Market Insight. RAR delivers news and analysis of the latest economic trends and developments shaping the marketplace.
  • Industry Intelligence. News from the financial services, home building and real estate brokerage industries focuses on industry developments that affect the availability of credit to buyers, the stimulation of demand, the increase or decrease of inventory levels, and competition.
  • Government Watch. RAR helps readers understand the critical debates in Congress and the Administration before decisions are made and analyzes their impact on the crisis-ridden housing markets—from loan modifications to preventing foreclosures, Fed interest rate policy, Federal Housing Administration financing programs and the future of the government-sponsored enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
  • Looking Ahead. Each issue’s news section ends with a peek at newsworthy developments scheduled for the week to come, anticipating the release of economic indices, major reports and other news-making events.
  • The Portfolios. RAR tracks the performance of three real estate equity and property portfolios designed to give a sense of changing values in residential real estate and the real estate industry.
  • The Databank. RAR compiles all of the most vital and current real estate and economic data in one spot. On a single page, the report publishes weekly indicators like mortgage rates and libor spreads, monthly reports in existing home sales and new home starts, and monthly prices from the three leading indices for the nation’s ten top markets. Every issue ends with a forecast page listing monthly mortgage rate, sales and price forecasts from economists at five leading national real estate organizations, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
